Senior Architect Position in Shanghai

　　Looking for a senior architect, ideally Chinese who can be based in Shanghai on contract for 1 year. Customer wants to evolve their current IT landscape, mainly around SAP, QAD, MfgPro, Microsoft in new areas to support an extensive supplier and distributor/partner/sales network in line with a US roadmap. Key technologies being considered are Ariba, SalesForce, Azure, SaaS, PaaS etc.

　　Require someone to work with the US team and regional IT, business heads. it’s a large US company and there could be services opportunities down the road for Intrigo.

　　Job Description Overview

　　APAC IT team is supporting IT demands from all HQ APAC functional teams, as well as from Asia based Corp functions’ local IT demand. These demands are driven by business growth in the APAC region.  Currently there is no solution architect based in the region, therefore all solution requests have to go through US.  The efficiency and effectiveness of communication, closeness to customer and market, timeliness of solution design are not optimal because of the time zone and language differences.  Besides, we could not really take advantage of the emerging technology in the region, and establish more relationship with the local partners, which limits the development of local capability and eventually becomes a bottleneck to the business growth in APAC.

　　In addition, the Enterprise Architect (EA) team needs an extension in APAC, to be a conduit of this group and the various APAC teams (both Corp and Bus), so ensure better education of the EA process to these teams and to facilitate the processes.

　　This position will directly report to the Senior Manager, Application Management APAC IT, and functionally reporting to the VP, IT Strategy and Architecture.

　　Platforms are mainly ERP, involving SAP and other systems.

　　Key Roles

　　· Work with APAC business leaders and their teams to understand business needs and determine the right IT solution to meet their needs.  Timely solution provided to APAC business stakeholders with satisfactory result.

　　· Balance short term business need and long term EA strategic alignment to pick the right technology & solution platform(s) to achieve the IT solution

　　· Evaluate Build vs. Buy, On Premise vs. SaaS implementation options & recommend the right solution option with proper justification

　　· Understand & promote the re-use of architectural & solution building blocks principle in solution designs to achieve faster speed to market & operational efficiency

　　· Estimate total cost of ownership & one time project costs for new ideas originating from the business leaders involving IT systems

　　· Provide a high level oversight over development practices to ensure adherence to application development lifecycle best practices

　　· Drive RFI/RFP & technology selection processes with technology solution providers for new solutions

　　· Drive re-use of already defined product & technology standards in the company & identify new standards in areas where standards do not exist.  Participate in the standards governance process & provide input into setting new standards

　　· Evaluate portfolio health and offer recommendations to IT leaders on improving overall portfolio health

　　· Manage & maintain overall APAC region application & technology landscape. Understand how the landscape will evolve in both near term (6 months – 1 yr.) & long term (1 yr. – 3 yrs.)

　　· Build & maintain business & technology capability roadmaps for applications used in APAC

　　· Proactively identify & drive application rationalization activities in the APAC region with a goal to reduce TCO

　　· Work closely with other application owners in the regional business units, business leaders, global infrastructure, global information security,  global Enterprise Architecture COE team & regional IT leaders on setting the future direction of IT in the region

　　· Being a voice of Asia in EA to ensure Asia requirements are considered in the global process design, and global solutions has “Asia First” being a key consideration.
